The Salomon QST Lumen 99 offers endless versatility for any and all conditions encountered at the resort. The QST line from Salomon has remained a favorite amongst a wide range of skiers due to the fact that they meet the demands of high-level skiers yet are very approachable to more conservative skiers who would prefer a less demanding ski. The QST Lumen 99 is built with Salomon’s classic Poplar wood core as well as their C/FX material which is a blended strip of Carbon, Basalt, and Flax which provides power, strength and stability to the ski. In the tip you’ll find a Cork Damplifier. This might seem odd, but Cork actually provides a lot of damping properties which helps to keep the ski quiet at high speeds and in choppy snow. The 99-milliemeter waist width is perfect for both floating and carving, and with a 19-meter turn radius, this sidecut really allows you to make any turn shape you want. You can shorten up the turn shape but it’s not so demanding that it requires you consistently on edge. I nice bit of rocker in the tip offers great floatation as well as smooth and effortless turn initiation. Taper in both the tip and the tail give the ski the ability to pivot easily when is great when you find yourself in some, tighter or steeper terrain where you need to make a more pivoted turn.
