Under the hood, the Wingman 86 CTi features a laminated wood core along with 3D carbon tunes that run from tip to tail on an arc, adding a lot of liveliness, power and rebound to the ski. On top of the core, Elan uses their Amphibio Truline Technology wherein a partial metal laminate sits on top of the wood, with the majority of the material sitting on the inside edge for added precision and edge grip. This also helps reduce the amount of metal out in the extremities of the ski which helps with easy turn initiation and versatility as well. Elan’s Amphibio rocker profile is implemented into the shape of the Wingman 86 CTi which blends the precision of camber on the inside edge and the ease of rocker on the outside edge allowing for a seemingly perfect turn. Sitting on a slightly wider platform of 86 millimeters under the boot, the Wingman 86 CTi is no stranger to a bit of softer snow and crud and can certainly handle more terrain than just a perfectly groomed slope.
