2025 Dynastar M Free 99 Skis
For 2025, we get a slightly altered Dynastar M-Free 99 with the shape continuing forward and the construction being slightly altered to bolster both liveliness and stability. It’s one of the best tree skis that we have ever been on, and the fact that it can pop off in the park as well as trench down a groomer is a true testament to its versatility no matter where you are on the mountain.
Why we like it:
The M-Free 99’s ability to go from the trees to a groomer and then straight to the park is just amazing and makes it one of the best choices as a one-ski quiver.
Who it's for:
Upper intermediate to expert level skiers who need a ski that can literally do anything on the mountain will find this to be the unicorn they have been searching for all this time.
Highlights:
Dynastar’s Hybrid Core utilizes less adhesives to minimize weight while retaining a strong flex pattern. The core is also constructed more sustainably than before, making it less impactful on our environment. Polyurethane is joined to the outside of the central core, also without heavy adhesives, to save weight and provide excellent vibration damping and smoothness.
Things to consider:
The main thing to consider here is the availability of sizes between 171 cm and 185 cm which is quite limiting in terms of skier ski lengths. They also have the M-Free 90 available in a lot of shorter sizes, but that is a totally different ski than this amazing 99. If you fit into the brief size range of the 99, then consider yourself lucky.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Skis fairly true to size, if anything they ski slightly shorter than the stated length due to the rocker profile. Size up if you value stability and power above all else.
