2025 Head Kore 87 Skis
The 2025 Head Kore 87 is a supremely agile and quick ski for all mountain freeride versatility. Carbon powered for maximum reactiveness and rebound. It has a high-performance build that is also light enough for loads of maneuverability, which results in a highly versatile ski for a broad range of applications and skier types.
Why we like it:
Quick, agile, and easy to pivot while still offering powerful and composed carving performance is a balance that is hard to achieve but the Kore 87 is certainly in that short list of names that accomplish it.
Who it's for:
Advanced to expert all-mountain skiers who value a lightweight build with a stiff flex pattern
Highlights:
As the basis for the construction, the 87 gets a Karuba-Poplar Light Wood Core which keeps the weight to a minimum while also having a poppy and energetic character. Graphene is also incorporated as a damping agent to control unwanted vibrations giving the 87 a smooth and composed feel. Bringing it all together, a multilayer-carbon sandwich cap construction is used, composed of a fiberglass laminate and two full carbon fiber laminates. One carbon laminate sits below the core while the other rests on top in a concave manner. The concave shape puts the carbon fiber in a 3-dimensional format, boosting its stiffness significantly. Structured UHM C Bases are taken from their world-leading race skis for maximum glide in all snow conditions.
Things to consider:
We have found that heavier skiers tend to work well with the Kore skis due to their stiffness. Lighter skiers have a hard time bending the ski to access its sidecut.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Skis true to size.
