2026 Jones Freecarver 6000S Snowboard
The Freecarver 6000 from Jones is a high-performance carver that has all the same technology as the 9000 but in a softer flex with a tighter turn radius. If making short turns at high speeds on pristine groomers excites you, then this board has got you covered.
Why we like it:
The shorter effective edge and moderate flex makes the Freecarver 6000 extremely maneuverable through even the tightest glades. This board is built for carving and will not disappoint, built with enough camber to hold an edge on hard packed icy terrain without fear of washing out. Even though this board is an exception carver, it can still handle deep snow and cruddy conditions with ease.
Who it's for:
The Freecarver 6000 is geared towards intermediate to advanced riders who put an emphasis on carving. Great for ripping down groomers at high speeds or weaving through tight east coast trees. This board has the stability and control you need to carve with the best of them.
Highlights:
The Power Core on the Freecarver 6000 combine bamboo stringers with paulownia to create a snappy and responsive ride without sacrificing weight or maneuverability. The Trian Fiberglass laminate and Power Basalt stringers add some stability and edge hold to reduce chatter and make for a smooth damp ride through any conditions. The Sintered 9900 Base provides superior glid and holds wax better than an extruded base.
Things to consider:
A longer camber profile can make it harder to maneuver and easier to catch an edge for more entry level riders and the directional shape can make it harder to ride or land switch. The minimal rocker in the nose can lack some floatation that you would get with a fully rockered board, but the spoon shaped nose helps with this.
Fit & sizing considerations:
The Freecarver 6000 is a volume shift board so you would want to size down a few centimeters from your typical length.
