2025 Jones Stratos Snowboard
The Stratos from Jones comes back unchanged for the 2025 season. This high-performance all-mountain board combines a directional freeride shape with the energy and response of a freestyle board. This board gives you plenty of versatility in variable snow conditions, whether you are plowing through crud and slush, floating through deep snow, or just cruising on groomers, this board can handle it all.
Why we like it:
The shape profile and spoon shaped nosed makes the Stratos roll easily edge to edge making it not only float well in deep snow but also makes it maneuverable off trail through tight trees or moguls. This board can still rail turns on hard packed conditions with the longer camber profile which also give you more spring-loaded pop to launch off natural back country hits.
Who it's for:
The Stratos is geared more towards intermediate to advanced riders who want a one board quiver to tackle any terrain. Great for charging down groomers, weaving through tight glades, or plowing through 2 feet of snow on a powder day.
Highlights:
The Ultra Core on the Stratos combines a paulownia core with poplar stringers that gives this board great durability and power without compromising weight or maneuverability. A Biax fiberglass laminate that runs the length of the board makes for a forgiving and snappy ride. Power Basalt Stringers that run from the front inserts to the tip of the board helps plow through the cruddiest conditions without fear of getting deflected. A Sintered 9990 Base provides excellent glide and holds wax longer than an extruded base.
Things to consider:
The 10 mm of taper in the tail gives this board excellent floatation but can make it a little harder to ride or land switch. The longer camber profile can make it easier to catch an edge and fall but the spoon shaped nose brings your contact points back for easier turn initiation.
Fit & sizing considerations:
The Stratos rides true to size and comes in a variety of lengths to fit most riders.
