The Gateway from K2 comes back unchanged for the 2025 season and is a great all-mountain board that can help any rider progress their skills to the next level. Easy enough to maneuver through tight trees and moguls with enough stability to charge down icy groomers and plow through the crud.

Why we like it:

The Gateway provides tons of versatility in variable snow conditions. The flat shape and added tip rockers give you a surfy feel that makes this board excellent in deep snow and easier maneuverability off trail. Bringing the contact points in makes for easier turn initiation and a catch free ride.

Who it's for:

The Gateway is ideal for beginner to intermediate riders who are exploring the whole mountain. A great option for those riders who don't want to have to work so hard to transition edge to edge. Whether it's plowing through deep snow filled bowls out west or weaving in and out of the side country this board has got you covered.

Highlights:

The Aspen Core on the Gateway provides a consistent flex from tip to tail and gives this board great snap and durability. The ICG™ 10 Biax Carbon Fiberglass laminate uses 10 carbon stringers to give this board some added stability and edge hold to make up for the lack of camber. The durable Extruded 2000 Base makes maintenance and repair easy.

Things to consider:

The flat shape profile on the Gateway makes it catch free and easy to maneuver but it lacks the response and energy of a fully cambered board. There are better options if you are spending most of your time in the park as the flat shape also lacks the spring-loaded pop that you would get with a camber board. The extruded base is easy to maintain but does not hold wax as well as a sintered base.

The Gateway rides true to size but can be sized up for more stability at speed.
