The 2025 Line Optic 88 is an all-mountain carver that absolutely eats early morning corduroy. As the narrowest Optic in the line, these skis prefer to stay on trail but are more than happy to venture off the groomed trail. A supportive flex pattern and carving oriented shape makes for one heck of a carving ski that has a splash of freestyle influence.

Responsive and reactive characteristics are what got our attention with the Optic 88. What you put into these skis; you get rewarded with out of every turn which is what makes a carving ski so great.

Advanced to expert skiers with a freeride/freestyle background who seek a ski centered towards on trail carving.

Highlights:

Line utilizes an Aspen Veneer wood core for the Optic 96 which is composed of narrow stringers of aspen to provide a balanced flex pattern that is both stable and smooth but also forgiving and playful. Supporting the core, the Optic 96 also gets Gas Pedal Metal Overdrive titanal laminates which supplies torsional and longitudinal stiffness to the ski for added carving performance, vibration damping, as well as overall stability at speed.

Things to consider:

Although the Optic 88 is intended to be a dedicated carving ski, skiers who want pure top-end carving performance will likely find that its effective edge is shorter and its flex pattern softer than other skis in this category. Instead, the Optic 88 is meant to be creative over pure and complete power.
