Alps & Meters Alpine Guide Men's Sweater

In the late 19th century the world’s first garments designed specifically for sports started being introduced. British tailors took the classic trouser, originally designed for military use, and began creating clothing which reflected the need for movement and comfort in sports, but, being British of course, added a splash of style and sartorial splendor to a formerly purely utilitarian garment. The Alps & Meters Alpine Winter Men's Trousers reflect the post World War II era when function and fashion combined to create ski trousers made from wool, which was, of course, the weatherproof fabric of choice in the post war period. Traditional and contemporary, the Alps & Meters Alpine Winter Men's Trousers sports the classic tailoring of the post war period with a blend of modern waterproof / breathable technology including a water repellent finish on the outer fabric, and a 10k/10k waterproof and windproof membrane backing behind it. These might be technically classified as “shell pants,” although the wool fabric elevates them over that traditional category. Inseam zipper venting on the thighs allows you to blow off steam when you need to, while a zip at the back of the leg opening gives you the range to accommodate both ski and snowboard boots. Zip those closed for a slim and trim trouser aesthetic for an après ski stop at the bar. A technical advance on the original wool pant, these have a timeless style with leather trim panels to protect the hems and come complete with a removable, reinforced, suspender kit to create the full post-war effect, when men skied in ties and ripped up the powder in leather boots.
